Edgware Academy supports Children in Need 2011
WHAT IS IT?
◦ “Children in Need” is a UK charity. They want all children to be safe, happy and secure. Not all families in the UK have enough money to support their children. Children in Need helps them. They started in 1927.
WHO IS THE BEAR?
◦ The bear’s name is Pudsey. He has worked for “Children in Need” since 1985
WHEN AND WHERE IS IT?
◦ “Children in Need” is a national event. It happens all over the UK in the third week of November.On the 18th of November, this year, the BBC will show an evening of fantastic television programmes designed to make you laugh. They will begin at 19.30 on BBC 1.
AND EDGWARE ACADEMY?
◦ This Friday, Edgware Academy will also try to raise money for children. We hope that we can encourage you to help us. We hope to make you laugh and have a good day.
◦ Things happening are:
▪ Staff costume day. The teachers will be dressing as PIRATES to teach all day. This includes authentic pirate accent. Photography is allowed with a small donation.
▪ Cake Sale! For a small price, you too can enjoy a slice of delicious cake!
▪ A Pirate Lucky Dip. What will you win?
▪ A Tombola. Choose the correct cake and win!
HOW CAN I HELP?
◦ If you wish to bring any food which we can sell. If you wish to dress in costume. If you would like to make a donation with us or online. All offers for help are welcome. Please speak to your teacher.
◦ Enjoy the day. Laugh, smile and have a good experience which will become a great memory, but don’t forget why we are doing this.
